The J Street Companies today welcomed Anastasia Kharchenko as Vice President of Retail Services.  Ms. Kharchenko will head the Woodmark Retail Services Group,  working alongside Mark Witschorik, George Voris, Laine Shakerdge and Alex Green on both landlord and tenant representation. She will also assist the company’s development group in evaluating and converting renovation and ground-up opportunities which involve a retail or mixed-use component. 

J Street Companies Chairman, Bruce Baschuk, said, “Anastasia brings a wealth of experience that will not only grow our retail services capabilities but will bring specific insight into urban mixed-use and retail real estate that will benefit our entire commercial brokerage group.” 

Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Ms. Kharchenko moved to the Washington D.C. area in 1991.  Since then she has worked as both a landlord and tenant representative with companies including Transwestern, Spaulding & Slye Colliers and the Staubach Company.  In 2002, she joined the Madison Retail Group. 

With an extensive background in site analysis, master-planning advisory services, initial project design, and space planning and architecture, Ms. Kharchenko provides preliminary project consulting and design as part of her landlord representation and leasing services.  She is often engaged by developers and property owners to work alongside project teams during pre-development phases to prepare a thorough site analysis and generate the necessary market studies and design recommendations.   

On the tenant representation side Ms. Kharchenko has represented both national and regional clients, including quick-casual and full-service restaurants, home fashion, and soft goods and apparel companies.  Her tenant representation list includes Au Bon Pain, Wasabi Sushi, Fogo De Chao, The Daily Grill, Rhodeside Grill, New Balance, G-Star, Vesta Home, The Sliding Door Company, Lacrosse Unlimited,  and many other specialty retailers in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
