Blake joins The J Street Companies after 22 years in Metropolitan Washington Commercial Real Estate.  For the past 12 years, Blake acted as the Director of Leasing for Douglas Development where he was instrumental in steering the company’s growth from less than 1 million square feet to a portfolio of greater than 10 million square feet of office, retail and residential space.

While at DDC, Blake acted as the lead negotiator for more than 3 million square feet of private sector office and retail leases and over 1 million square feet of public sector lease transactions.  Public sector tenants included State of Maryland, Prince Georges County Government, University of Maryland, District of Columbia Government, State of Virginia and GSA.  As the key Landlord representative, Blake implemented a tenant retention program throughout the portfolio which helped secure a 96% renewal performance.  In addition to his leasing experience, Blake has extensive experience working with community groups and local governments in the development of several community based real estate developments.
